MA Power Outages: 11,000 In The Dark
The ice storm has thousands across Massachusetts without power, with some areas harder hit than others.

More than 11,000 in Massachusetts are without power, according to the state's emergency management agency. The pre-Christmas ice storm, which has already caused dozens of crashes and prompted I-95 to temporarily close earlier Saturday, had lights and heat out for thousands as of 5:30 p.m.
The outages are scattered across the state. Thousands in the Merrimack Valley, Central Massachusetts, and down Route 24 have been among the hardest hit. Roughly 1,000 are in the dark in the North Shore, mostly in the northern part of Essex County. Many outages do not have estimated times of restoration yet.
A few towns in the Boston area have a few hundred customers apiece without power. Three percent of all Eversource customers in Stoneham and two percent in Wayland are in the dark, making for the worst of it in those area.
