MORTGAGE NETWORK, INC. PARTNERS WITH THE NORTH SHORE HABITAT FOR HUMANITY TO ESTABLISH HOUSING FOR VETERANS

Ensuring Veterans in need have a better place to call home

Danvers, MA – May 8, 2014 ─ Mortgage Network, Inc. helped three Veterans and their families with attaining their dreams of homeownership when a group of employees assembled for a build day with the North Shore Habitat for Humanity at their current Lynn project.

This year’s Mortgage Network Habitat for Humanity Build occurred in Lynn, Massachusetts on April 26, 2014. Twenty-one Mortgage Network, Inc. employees and their families and friends gathered at 6 Grover Street on a rainy Saturday morning to help renovate a home into three units for deserving Veterans and their families.

“My father is a Vietnam Veteran and for me to be given the opportunity to give back to a Veteran after they have sacrificed for me and my family, really made this event special,” said Richard Bettencourt, Branch Manager of Mortgage Network, Inc. “This was probably one of the most rewarding feelings I’ve had the pleasure of experiencing in my 13 years as a mortgage professional.”

The renovations of the Grover Street home, known as the Lynn project, began in 2013. The home had to be completely gutted in an extensive revamp which is expected to be complete by this summer.

In commenting on the Mortgage Network experience in Lynn, Maureen Elliot, New England Regional Manager, spoke about the dedication and hard work of the Mortgage Network, Inc. and the North Shore Habitat for Humanity teams, “it was just incredible knowing that we helped these families attain a dream they may have thought was out of reach.”
