Bernard L. “Bernie” Lucier 84, of Danvers MA. passed away on November 6, 2014.Born in Lynn, MA he was the son of the late Henry and Katherine (McClusky) Lucier. Bernie graduated from St. Mary’s in Lynn and went on to serve his country with the US Army during the Korean conflict.Mr. Lucier was employed with Whiting and then with Hood milk for well over forty years. Bernie was a member of the Danvers VFW C.W. Davis Post #2359 where he served as past commander. An active member of St. Mary of the Annunciation Parish, Bernie served as past president of the Holy Name Society.He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed following his favorite team, Notre Dame. Bernie has resided in Danvers for over fifty years. He enjoyed time spent with his family.He was father to Katherine Mackay and her husband John of Salem and was predeceased by his son Karl. Bernie leaves a grandchild, Rory Mackay and his former wife Claire Lucier of Danvers. He was brother of the late Katherine Gillis, Dorothea Chabra, Lorraine McCabe, Henry and Walter Lucier.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 11am in St. Mary’s Church. Visitation to be held prior from 9am-10:30am in the Mackey Funeral Home, Danvers Facility. see www.mackeyfuneralhome.com for further details.
