Obituary: Edward J. "Ed" Boudreau, Aircraft Engineer for General Electric for 28 Years

Edward J. “Ed” Boudreau 76, of Danvers and Mesa, Arizona, beloved husband of Mary (Yates) Boudreau, died September 30th, 2014 at Bannor Baywood Hospital in Mesa, Arizona.
Born in Rumford, Maine, he was the son of the late Romeo and Ann (Smith) Boudreau. He was raised and educated in Portland, Maine and was a graduate of Deering High School. He continued his education earning his degree from the University of Maine in Engineering.
An honorably discharged veteran, he served his country as a member of the United States Army.
Ed had been employed with the General Electric Company for over 28 years as an Aircraft Engineer until the time of his retirement. Following retirement, Ed earned his teaching certificate and taught for an additional eight years.

A loving and dedicated husband, father and grandfather, Ed enjoyed playing Bridge four times a week in his retirement. A compassionate man, Ed believed in giving back to his community and supported several charities. He enjoyed following local and national politics and was very outspoken about his political views. He was a member of the Quarter Century Club at the General Electric. For many years he volunteered his time coaching and refereeing youth sports. He and his beloved wife spent their winters in Mesa, Arizona for the last 12 years. He will be deeply missed.
Ed is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Mary (Yates) Boudreau of Danvers and Mesa, Arizona, his daughters, Michelle Boudreau of Waltham and Heather (Boudreau) Smith and her husband Tim of London, England, his son Edward Boudreau of Beverly Farms, his grandchildren, Zachary and Samuel Smith, his brother Richard Boudreau of Connecticut and Florida and several nieces and nephews.

ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to a Celebration of his life at Calitri’s Restaurant, Newbury St., (Rte. 1 South) Danvers, Saturday, October 18th from 5 to 7 P.M. As requested all other services are private. Assisting the family with the arrangements is the Peterson-O’Donnell Funeral Home 167 Maple St., (Rte 62) Danvers.
