Obituary: Eugene S. Yanchus, Account Executive With Anheuser Busch

Eugene S. Yanchus, 91, beloved fiancé and companion of Marjorie Millea of Peabody, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, April 17th. Born and raised in the Pittsburg area of Pennsylvania, he is the son of the late Stephen C. and Katherine (Patric) Yanchus.

Eugene graduated from Washington University in Saint Louis with a B.S. Degree in Chemistry. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during WWII. Eugene fought for 203 consecutive days on the front lines in European Theater.

Upon his return, Eugene started his career with Anheuser Busch as an Accounts Executive, until his retirement. He enjoyed gardening, ball room dancing, playing cards and pool; and was an avid sports enthusiast. Eugene was a member of the Vittori Rocci Post in Beverly, the Danvers Senior Center, the Polish American Club in Danvers and the Moose Lodge in Malden.

In addition to Marjorie, he is survived by his children: Patrick E. Yanchus and his wife Kathleen of Topsfield and Kate V. Yanchus of Lakekatrine, New York; one sister: Patricia Butter of Pennsylvania; brother-in-law: Frank Spik of Pennsylvania two grandchildren: Nicole A. Durgan and her husband Lance of Topsfield and Andrew P. Yanchus and his wife Erica of San Diego, California; three great grandchildren: Tyler P. and Alexis S. Durgan and Hanlon A. Yanchus; along with many cousins and nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his wife of 45 years, Colleen (Donworth) Yanchus, brothers: Richard and Louis Yanchus and sister: Joanne Spik.
