Obituary: Frances T. (Pashby) Scoledge, Served Two Terms as Danvers Town Meeting Member; Appointed to the Danvers Finance Committee

Served as a Trustee of the Peabody Institute Library in Danvers, and was active with the Danvers Historical Society.

Frances T. (Pashby) Scoledge 87, of Brooksville, Florida, beloved wife of the late Robert F. Scoledge, died January 13th, 2015 at home.

Born in Lynn, Frances was the daughter of the late John and Rebecca (Sullivan) Pashby. She was raised and educated in Lynn and was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School in Lynn. Frances continued her education at Emmanuel College earning her Bachelor’s Degree in history and political science. She received her Master’s Degree in Theatre Arts from Boston College and later taught speech and drama at Emmanuel College.

Frances moved to Danvers in 1955 with her husband, Bob, and was elected to two terms as a Town Meeting Member, after which she was appointed to the Danvers Finance Committee. Frances also served as a Trustee of the Peabody Institute Library in Danvers and was active with the Danvers Historical Society.

A longtime parishioner of St. Mary’s of the Annunciation parish in Danvers, Franceswas a soprano soloist with the choir for many years. She and her husband, Bob, were among the founding members of the Danvers Community Theatre, and Frances appeared in many plays and musicals around the North Shore.

In 1979, Frances’ husband, Bob, an employee of Sylvania, was transferred to Monterrey, Mexico, where they lived for three years. Upon her return, Frances continued her interest in politics by working on many campaigns, including acting as a delegate for Ronald Reagan at the 1976 Republican National Convention in Kansas City.

Frances is survived by her daughters Mary Galligan of Houston, Texas, Karen Achenbach of Annapolis Royal, Nova Scotia, and Theresa MacLean of Brooksville, Florida, her sons, Robert Scoledge Jr. of Raymond, New Hampshire, John Scoledge of Richardson, Texas and Daniel Scoledge of Jackson, Tennessee, her 12 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren, her sisters, Margaret Pashby of Peabody, Sister Agnes Pashby, S.N.D. of Ipswich, and her brother, Charles Pashby of Eugene, Oregon. She was also the sister of the late John Pashby.

The family wishes to gratefully acknowledge the children of Theresa MacLean, Ian MacLean, David MacLean, Eric MacLean and Alex MacLean for the care and comfort they gave their grandmother in her later years. The family also wishes to express their appreciation of Krystal McCausland, Frances’ special friend and caregiver.

ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral will be held from the Peterson-O’Donnell Funeral Home 167 Maple St., (rte 62) Danvers, Wednesday, January 21st at 8:15 A.M. followed by her funeral Mass in St. Mary of the Annunciation Church, Conant St., Danvers, at 9 A.M.. Visiting hours Tuesday, January 20th from 4 to 6 P.M. Relatives and friends invited. Burial in Annunciation Cemetery, Danvers.
