Obituary: Francis C. Rhodes, Peabody Municipal Light Plant Lineman For More Than 35 Years
Known as "Dusty" to his friends and co-workers.

Francis C. Rhodes, 82, died Tuesday, February 10, 2015 following a short illness. He was the loving husband of the late June F. Rhodes, with whom she shared fifty-eight years of marriage.
Born in Lawrence on August 3, 1932, he was the son of the late Clarence and Martha Rhodes. He was a Danvers resident for over forty-five years.
Known as “Dusty” to his friends and co-workers, Mr. Rhodes served in the Air Force earning the rank of Master Sergeant. He was later employed by the Peabody Municipal Light Plant and served as lineman for more than 35 years. He owned a small stable and took pleasure in riding and caring for horses. He also enjoyed vacationing in the White Mountains spending time with family and friends camping and skiing.

He is survived by a son, Francis C. Rhodes Jr. and his wife Samantha of Florida, a daughter, Judith A. Steele of Danvers, a brother Clarence Rhodes, Jr. of Newport, RI, a brother James Rhodes of Salem, NH, a sister, Carol Stanley of Pelham, NH, five grandchildren, Michelle Mills, Justin Steele, and Olivia and Natalie Rhodes, and two great-grandsons, Preston and Jackson. He was predeceased by a son, Thomas E. Rhodes and a sister, Clara Cavanaugh.
His Funeral Service will be celebrated on Wednesday at 2:00 PM in C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square. Relatives and friends are invited. Visitation will precede the service from 1:30 – 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in Francis’s name may be made to the Kaplan Family Hospice House, 78 Liberty Street, Danvers, MA 01823.
