Obituary: JoAnne (Wilkins Klosowski) Alukonis, Worked at the Former Danvers Savings Bank for 25 Years

JoAnne (Wilkins Klosowski) Alukonis 74, of Danvers, formerly of Newburyport and Middleton, beloved wife of Robert A.Alukonis, died of cancer on Monday, Dec. 22nd, 2014 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers, surrounded by her family.
Born in Danvers, she was the daughter of the late William Burdett and Grace (Ward) Wilkins. She was raised and educated in Danvers and was a graduate of the former Holten High School, Class of 1958.
Mrs. Alukonis had been employed for 25 years with the former Danvers Savings Bank until the time of her retirement in 2003.
A loving, wife, mother and grandmother, JoAnne was passionate about her family. She was devoted to her family first and foremost in her life. She was very proud and loved all of her children and grandchildren deeply.
JoAnne was a longtime member of many garden clubs on the North Shore. She was delighted to be on the Garden tour in Danvers last spring. She was also a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Newburyport until recently moving back to Danvers where she worshiped at All Saints Episcopal Church. Her faith is very strong. Her family was paramount in her life and she will be remembered for her loving kindness and devotion to her family and many friends.
JoAnne is survived by her loving husband of the last 18 years, Robert A. Alukonis of Danvers, her children, Jody Shea and her husband Robert of Middleton, Shelly Shea and her husband Steven of Groveland, Tammy Scott and her husband Charlie of Kingston, N.H., Amie Galuszewski of Middleton and Wm. Andrew Klosowski III and his wife Heather of Groveland, her Step children Susan Alukonis of Nashua, N.H., Karen Sleifer of Bradley Beach, N.J., and Laura Sawyer and her husband Sean of Uxbridge, her 16 grandchildren, Bryan, Victoria, Rebecca, Maddison, Morgan, Taylor, Zofia, Ella, Jak, Ben, Andrew, Katie, Erica, Jeremy, Alison and Kevin, her 29 nieces and nephews, as well as her first husband of 27 years, William A. Klosowski Jr. She was predeceased by 3 sisters and a brother.
ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral service will be held in the All Saints Episcopal Church, Cherry St., Danvers, Saturday December 27th at 11 A.M. Relatives and friends invited. Burial is private. Visiting hours in the Peterson-O’Donnell Funeral Home 167 Maple St., (rte 62) Danvers, Friday, Dec. 26th, from 4 to 7 P.M.
