Obituary: John A. Sanborn, 67, Danvers Department of Public Works For Many Years

Proudly served as a U. S. Navy "Seabee" in Vietnam, followed by nearly 20 years as a member of the Massachusetts Army National Guard.

John Anthony Sanborn, 67, of Danvers, died April 8, 2015. He was the husband of Wendy (Whitmarsh) Sanborn of Danvers, with whom he shared the last twenty years of his life.

Born in Salem, he was the son of the late Grace (Tricomi) Sanborn and the late Roy Sanborn. He was a graduate of Salem High School. John proudly served his country as a U. S. Navy “Seabee” in Vietnam, followed by nearly 20 years as a member of the Massachusetts Army National Guard. He was employed by the Town of Danvers Department of Public Works for many years.

John was predeceased by his loving son Shawn Sanborn of Danvers. He is survived by his sons, Kevin Sanborn and his wife Erica of Derry, NH; Christopher Sanborn and his wife Ashley of North Andover; and Brian Sanborn of Salem. He was also the beloved grandfather of Reilly and Cadence Sanborn, Liam Gustison, Colin Sanborn, and Miranda Sanborn; and leaves a daughter-in-law, Erin Sanborn of Danvers.

Visiting hours will be on Tuesday, April 14, 2015 from 4-7PM in C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square. Relatives and friends are invited. All other services are private.
