Obituary: John Silva; Married 67 Years, Father of Five Children

John Silva, of Danvers and Winter Haven, FL passed away on May 31th, 2015. He was born on March 9th, 1927 in Danvers to Portuguese immigrants Theodore Q. and Collota Silva (Souza).

Raised in Danvers, predeceased by his five siblings, William, Adeline, Olive, Anthony and Esabella. John leaves behind wife Lucille Silva (Pelletier) married 67 years. Five children; Richard Silva, of Maine and wife Andrea, Marsha Harmony of Florida, Janet Gallagher of Beverly and husband Bob, Judy Miles of Beverly and husband Jim and Terri Sheppard of Danvers. Also survived grand children; Christopher Silva, Paxton Silva, Jennifer Hudak, Joseph Miles, Ariel Woods and Kali Sheppard. John also had three great grand children.

John worked at Portsmouth Navy Yard before opening several automotive businesses on the North Shore. Retired from Allstate Insurance in 1984. John and Lucille travelled the 50 states in their mobile home over the years. John also enjoyed playing pool and achieved several gold medals in the Senior Olympic Games in Florida where he resided for many years.
