Obituary: Lawrence Joseph Burton, Former President of Merrimack Magnetics of Lowell

Lawrence Joseph Burton, 92, beloved husband of the late Helen (Reczek) Burton, died Feb. 26, 2015. He is survived by his daughters, Carol Burton of North Easton, Mary Griffin & her husband Peter of Shrewsbury & Janet Landis and her husband Jeff of Hamilton, his son, Lawrence M.Burton and his wife Kristi of Webster, N.Y., grandchildren, Andrew Griffin & his wife Kate of Waltham, Matthew Griffin & his wife Tammy of Washington D.C., Josh Landis of NYC, NY & Rachel Landis of Hamilton, Great Grandson, Connor Griffin. Father of the late Richard Burton & brother of the late Gerald Burton.

Raised and educated in Boston, he was the son of the late Charles and Margaret Burton. He was raised and educated in Boston and was a graduate of Boston English High School and Bentley University.

He was the President of Merrimack Magnetics of Lowell and formerly an accountant at Sylvania.

An honorably discharged veteran, he served his country as a member of the United States Coast Guard.

He was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Saugus and the Elks Lodge in Wakefield. He enjoyed traveling and golf and was a resident of the Town of Lynnfield for over 46 years.

ARRANGEMENTS: His funeral will be held from the Peterson-O’Donnell Funeral Home 167 Maple St., (rte 62) Danvers, Monday, March 2nd, at 8:15 followed by his funeral Mass in St. Richard Church, Forest St., Danvers at 9 A.M..
