Obituary: Malvina (Mal) A. (Gagnon) Nolet, Always Placed Needs of Others First

She was a parishioner of St. Richard Church in Danvers.

Obituary from Mackey Funeral Home.

Malvina (Mal) A. (Gagnon) Nolet, 95, formerly of Danvers and Marathon, Florida, died Monday, May 18th, at the Kaplan Hospice House following a sudden, week-long illness. She was the daughter of Adelard O. and Maria M.T. (Bolduc) Gagnon. She was the wife of 50 years to Leo J. Nolet, who predeceased her and mother of Sharleen L. Ball and husband Roger, of Vestal, NY and Leo (Lee) Nolet and his partner William C. of Upland, CA. Mal was also predeceased by her brothers Edward F.A. Gagnon, of Olathe, KS, Adelard A. Gagnon, of Danvers, and George Gagnon, of Susanville, CA. Mal didn’t have any grandchildren but several loving nieces and nephews.

She was educated in Salem Public School System and worked for many years as a sales associate in Sears, Roebuck Co. until her retirement in the late 1970’s. She was a parishioner of St. Richard Church in Danvers. Mal always placed the needs of others before own, ensuring their comfort was the paramount concern. It was always difficult to end a phone conversation with Mom because there was always a volley of “I love you”, back and forth several times with her needing to get the last one in, as well as her familiar, “Goodbye… for now.” She is now free from earthly discomfort and in the loving arms of Our Lord, and reunited with her husband Leo.
