Obituary: Mary A. Guy, Devoted Mother

Born in Richmond, CA., and raised and educated in Peabody

Mary A. Guy, 91, of Danvers, formerly of Salem, beloved wife of the late George F. Guy, Sr., passed away peacefully Saturday, January 3, 2014 at the Hunt Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Danvers, surrounded by her family.

Born in Richmond, California she was the daughter of the late Henry and Virginia (Espindel) Silva. Mary was raised and educated in Peabody.

Mrs. Guy had been employed as an Assembler for the Sylvania Company at their Loring Ave. and Boston Street facilities for 10 years.

A devoted and caring mother she will be most remembered for her celebration of family, her nurturing spirit and making all who entered her home feel loved and comforted. Her happiest times where spent surrounded by her loving family who will miss her deeply.

A longtime resident of Salem, she was an active member and communicant of St. James Church for many years.

Mary is survived by her two daughters, Diane Bennett and her husband Warren of Danvers, Denise Stokes and her partner Carl Kellerman of Rochester, NH, her daughter-in-law, Diane Guy-Follansbee and her husband Edward of Seabrook, NH, her grandchildren, Debra Guy of Defiance, OH, Pamela Guy of Portland, OR, Aimee Smith and her husband Jason of Oxford, Cheryl Chace and her husband Matt of Rowley, and Lauren Booth and her husband Adam of Durham, NC, her great-grandchildren, Landon Maylunas and Ashley Chace. She was also the mother of the late George F. Guy, Jr., and sister of the late Albon Silva, Florence Conway and Tillie Silva.

Arrangements: Her Funeral Service will be held in the Peterson-O’Donnell Funeral Home, 167 Maple St., (Rte 62) Danvers, Wednesday at 11:00 am. Relatives and friends invited.
