Maureen A. “Moezy” Mc Dermott, 59, who was a “living doll”, died on Thursday, January 08, 2015 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers surrounded by her family and friends and together with her “bonus family” of Bass River Staff and peers. Maureen was a fashionista who would color coordinate her clothes, Jewelry, Watch, Shoes, Pocketbook, Lunchbox and even her drink to the “Moezy” color of the day.

Moezy was a social butterfly who schmoozed everyone she met with her compliments and that “Moezy” smile; she would tell everyone “don’t forget to have your lunch.”

She loved watching TV and knew the schedule of when her favorite shows were on – Channel 56 , Nick at night and TV Land were her favorites. She was a sitcom junkie and her laughter, when watching her shows was infectious.

Maureen began her career at Bass River in Beverly, then moved on to Heritage Industries, Burger King, and Old Navy , then went full circle ending at Bass River in Salem.

She is survived by her mother, Mary (Dunleavy) Mc Dermott of Danvers, her brothers and their spouses, Robert and Dianne Mc Dermott, James and Mary E. McDermott and Michael and Anne McDermott, twelve nieces and nephews, her Dunleavy Cuzzins and the Morrison cousins and her Bass River Family. She was the daughter of the late Harold F. Mc Dermott.

A Visitation will be held on Monday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 82 Lynn St., Peabody facility. Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2015 at 8:15 AM from the Funeral Home followed by a Funeral Mass in St. John the Baptist Church, 16 Church St., Peabody at 9:00 AM. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Bass River Inc. 437 Essex St., Beverly, MA 01915 in her memory.
