Obituary: Rachael E. Mackey, 28, Founded Swim Line

The obituary for Rachael E. Mackey, 28, of Danvers.

Rachael E. Mackey, 28, of Danvers passed away Sunday, Oct. 28, 2012 after a courageous two year battle with a brain tumor. Her loving family was at her side along with her devoted boyfriend Jedd.

Rachael is the daughter of Kathy (Zabrycki) Mackey and Vincent Mackey, both of Danvers. Rachael was a 2002 graduate of Danvers High School and later graduated from Bryant University in 2006. Her zest for life took her to many places in the world. She studied abroad in Australia, taught children in Indonesia, traveled to China, Fiji, Singapore and Taiwan.

She was the co-founder along with her boyfriend Jedd of TK Swim fashion line and a foundation for brain tumor research THEREAMTEAM.

Rachael enjoyed many aspects of life, modeling, surfing, yoga, dancing, basketball and most of all spending time with family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her in her shortened time spent here with us. She was a communicant of St. Richard Parish in Danvers.

Besides her loving parents, Rachael leaves her sister Holly Mackey of Danvers, her brother Andrew Mackey of Danvers. Also leaving her grandparents; Elias and Edith Mackey of Danvers, her longtime loving boyfriend Jedd Storoshenko of West Islip, N.Y. and his mother Jamie and brother Jared and all her friends all over the world. She was goddaughter to Ann DiTondo of New York and Daniel Mackey of Danvers. Rae leaves many loving aunts, uncles and cousins both here in Massachusetts and in Buffalo, N.Y. She was predeceased by her maternal grandparents Stan and Edna Zabrycki of Buffalo, N.Y.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to visitation on Friday evening in St. Richard Parish, Forest Street, Danvers from 4-8 p.m. A funeral mass will be celebrated for Rachael on Saturday morning at 9 a.m. at St. Richards. Burial to follow in Annunciation Cemetery, Danvers. The family kindly request that in lieu of flowers memorial donations be made to the Rachael E. Mackey Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 131, Danvers MA 01923. Funds will be used to establish a yearly scholarship in Rae's name to a student that has the same courage, positive outlook and determination in life that Rachael had.
