Obituary: Robert C. "Bob" Delande, Retired Lt. of Danvers Auxiliary Police

U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War

Robert C. “Bob” Delande, 82, passed away after a long and courageous battle with kidney disease on October 3, 2014 in the Kaplan Family Hospice House. He was the loving husband of Madeleine (Savoie) Delande with whom they shared 48 years of marriage.

Born in Salem on May 2, 1932, he was the son of the late Claude and Matilda (Guerrette) Delande. Bob was a member of the Saint John Preparatory School, Class of 1950. He was also a graduate of Burdette College. Bob served our country with the United States Army during the Korean War and was honorably discharged. For over forty years Bob was employed as an accountant for Gulf Oil. He also was very active with the Danvers Auxiliary Police and retired as a Lieutenant. He worked for Chapman Florist and also was a school crossing guard, upon his retirement. Bob enjoyed camping and gardening.
Besides his wife, Madeleine he is survived by three daughters; Sue Delande and her spouse Paula Marron of Andover, Lisa Mullane and her husband Chris of Salem, NH and Cathy DeMarco and her significant other, Ron Fisher of N. Chelmsford, and two grandchildren, Hannah and Matthew Mullane.
His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10AM on Thursday, October 9, 2014 in St. Richard Church, 90 Forest St., Danvers. Burial will follow in Annunciation Cemetery, Danvers. Visiting hours are Wednesday from 4-8PM at C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Bob’s name to Care Dimensions, 75 Sylvan St., Danvers, MA, 01923 or American Kidney Foundationwww.Kidney.org/support.
