Obituary: Wallace R. Watkins, Veteran of the Korean Conflict and WWII

Worked for Texaco for 40 years

Wallace R. Watkins, 89, died September 22, 2014, at the Kaplan Family Hospice House, Danvers. Born in Brooklyn, NY, He was the son of the late Arthur and Ella (Evans) Watkins. He moved to Danvers, Ma, 1994. Married Edith Stillwell, Jan. 1945 – 70 yrs, 2015, A veteran of both WWII & Korean Conflict he joined the Navy in 1942 and proudly served his country . A Member of the Stewart Manor Lodge, St. Albans Lodge A.F. & A.M. over 35 years, master twice. Mr. Watkins worked for Texaco for 40 years.

Survived by his loving wife Edith (Stillwell) Watkins of Danvers, his daughter, Kathryn L. Coltin and her husband Ronn, granddaughter Bethanie R. Fischer and her husband Marcus, grandson Stephen Coltin & great grandsons, Alex and Lucian Fischer, his sister Marion Scire of California & brother Gerald Watkins of New Jersey. He was also the brother of the late Russell Watkins.

His funeral service will be held in the Peterson-O’Donnell Funeral Home 167 Maple St., (rte 62) Danvers, Friday, Sept 26th, at 10 A.M. Relatives and friends invited. Burial in Walnut Grove Cemetery, Danvers, Visiting hours Thursday from 4 to 7 P.M. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Wallace’s memory to the Masonic Medical Research Lab, 2150 Bleeker St., Utica, N.Y. 13501 or to Shriners Children’s Hospital, 51 Blossom St., Boston, MA 02115.
