Obituary: William Trask, Contract Negotiator With the General Electric Co.

U.S. Navy Veteran; he was raised in Peabody and was a graduate of Peabody High School.

William Trask of Danvers, beloved husband of the late Virginia (Walsh) Trask, passed away unexpectedly at Beverly Hospital on March 26th, 2015.

Born in Salem, he was the son of the late Evelyn (Van Dyke) and William P. Trask. He was raised in Peabody and was a graduate of Peabody High School, Lawrence Academy in Groton, and the University of New Hampshire.

An honorably discharged veteran, he served his country as a member of the United States Navy.

He was married to the love of his life for 62 years until the time of her passing in June of 2013. They had made their loving home in Danvers since 1952.

Bill had been employed for over 40 years as a contract negotiator with the General Electric Company at its River Works plant in Lynn until the time of his retirement in December of 1990.

Bill and Virginia enjoyed many summers with their family in the New Hampshire Lakes Region. He was a car enthusiast and an ardent NASCAR fan. He closely followed the events of the Town of Danvers and was a proud graduate of the Danvers Citizens’ Police Academy.

Bill is survived by his loving family, which includes his daughter Lynda Allen and her husband Brian of Sanbornton N.H, his son, William G. Trask and his wife Brenda, of Newton; 3 grandchildren: Amanda Allen of San Diego CA, Alexander Allen of Billerica and Stephen W. Trask of Brooklyn, N.Y. Bill is also survived by a brother-in-law, Billy Walsh of Peabody as well as many cherished, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

ARRANGEMENTS: His funeral service will be held in the Peterson-O’Donnell Funeral Home 167 Maple St.., (rte 62) Danvers, Monday, March 30th at 2 P.M. Relatives and friends invited. Burial in Harmony Grove Cemetery, Salem. Visiting hours Sunday, March 29th, from 2 to 5 P.M.
