Philip Chism to Ask For a Change in Venue For His Murder Trial

The murder trial for Philip Chism, is set for Oct. 7 in Salem Superior Court.

The former Danvers high school student is planning on asking for a change in venue for his upcoming murder trial.

Philip Chism is scheduled to be in court at 2 Tuesday afternoon in Salem to request a change of venue, according to Carrie Monahan-Kimball, spokeswoman for the Essex District Attorney’s office.

Chism, who was a 14-year-old student at Danvers High School in 2013, is accused of killing Colleen Ritzer of Andover, a popular math teacher at Danvers High School. on Oct. 22, 2013.
