Plane With Mechanical Issue Lands Safely

A plane with a landing gear issue made a safe landing at the Beverly Municipal Airport at around 3 p.m. this afternoon.

A host of local law enforcement and emergency personnel were at the airport when it became known that the plane would have to make an unscheduled, emergency landing at the airport.

Danvers police, Beverly police, and Beverly and Danvers and Beverly firefighters and EMS crews were all on hand in case they were needed, and there were a number of helicopters overhead near the scene.

The plane reportedly had five people aboard.

By 3:15 p.m., the plane was being towed off the runway and the landing gear was being checked.
