Public Blessing of the Animals at Endicott Park on Saturday, Oct. 4, 2014
All Saints Episcopal Church of the North Shore, Danvers, and Perfect Paws Pet Ministry, sponsor the 12th annual Blessing of the Animals

To celebrate the animals in our lives, and to emphasize their importance to us as spiritual beings, All Saints Episcopal Church of the North Shore, and its Perfect Paws Pet Ministry, will sponsor the 12th annual Blessing of the Animals on Saturday, October 4, 2014, at Endicott Park, Danvers, from 1 to 3 p.m., rain or shine.
The Blessing coincides with the annual Feast of St. Francis, the patron saint of animals and ecology, and is a favorite offering for the north shore community.
The Rev. Marya DeCalen, All Saints’ priest in charge, will preside over this now traditional community event that welcomes all, regardless of species and/or religion or spiritual belief.
Rev. DeCarlen will offer hands-on blessings for all animals who attend, and she will also bless photographs and paper prayers for those animals who are unable to attend because of temperament or geography, or those who have passed on.
Each animal will receive an individual, hands-on-blessing for “Long life, good health and a happy home.”
Everyone is invited to attend the 12th Blessing of the Animals. The event is free and open to the public, though parking fees ($1 for Danvers residents. $3 for nonresidents) will be required.
