Record-Breaking Giant Pumpkin Reigns At 2022 Topsfield Fair

TOPSFIELD, MA — It was a record-breaking opening night at the 204th Topsfield Fair.

Jamie Graham, of Tyngsboro, set a new record in the New England Giant Pumpkin Growers Contest on Friday with his haul topping the scales at 2,480 pounds.

The pumpkin was nearly 200 pounds larger than the previous standard-bearer of 2,294.5 pounds from two years ago.

Alex Noel, of Abington, Connecticut, whose 2019 pumpkin held the previous record, was second on Friday at 2,234 pounds.

The Topsfield Fair runs through Oct. 10 with a full slate of new and traditional activities and a big slate of entertainment that includes Chubby Checker, Kansas and Trace Adkins.

Tickets are $20 and include admission to all programs and events. Carnival rides are additional.
