RMV Could Return to Danvers
The town is one of eight towns that were included in an RFP for a new location.

DANVERS, MA — After leaving Danvers, the Registry of Motor Vehicles could return to the North Shore town.
The Massachusetts Department of Transportation has issued a second request for proposals for a new home, according to the Salem News. The towns included in the RFP are Lynn, Lynnfield, Wakefield, Middleton, Peabody, Beverly, Danvers and Topsfield. The first request resulted in responses from Peabody and Beverly, both were turned down.
Last June, the RMV closed their location at the Liberty Tree Mall due to issues with the HVAC system.

The new RFP calls for 200 parking spaces and six handicap spaces.
