Route 1 Water Main Break Disrupts North Shore Blizzard Recovery Efforts
Danvers Public Works said crews were working to repair the break on Tuesday morning.
DANVERS, MA — A water main break on Route 1 northbound in Danvers hampered already-difficult travel across the North Shore on Tuesday as communities dug out from a foot of snow and looking to remove downed trees and power lines.
Danvers DPW said the break was ongoing at about 9 a.m. past the Conifer Hill Drive Exit.
"Our crew is actively working to repair the issue as quickly as possible," Danvers DPW said.

Schools remained closed across the North Shore on Tuesday while parking bans remained in effect for some cities and towns, and municipal offices were closed or had delayed openings.
