Rt. 128 Crash Update: Name Of Woburn Man Killed Near Danvers-Beverly Line Released

DANVERS, MA — A Woburn man was killed in a crash early Saturday morning, police said.

At about 1:32 a.m., state troopers responded to reports of a motorcycle crash on Route 128 South, just prior to Exit 21 in Danvers near the Beverly town line. Upon arrival, troopers discovered that a 2013 Harley Davidson had struck a guardrail. The driver, 35-year-old Joseph Addonizio of Woburn, was pronounced dead at the scene due to injuries sustained in the crash.

A preliminary investigation revealed that no other vehicles were involved in the crash.

During the incident, all lanes were closed on Route 128 North, and with the assistance of Beverly Police,. Traffic was detoured at exit 20B in Beverly. The right lane was opened to traffic at approximately 5:17 a.m. All lanes were reopened at approximately 6:38 a.m.

The crash is under investigation.
