Steve Connolly of Sharon was named the winner of the annual Giant Pumpkin Weigh-Off.
TOPSFIELD, MA — The Topsfield Fair got off to a record-setting start Friday.
With a pumpkin weighing in at 2,075.5 pounds, Steve Connolly of Sharon was named the winner of the annual Giant Pumpkin Weigh-Off, setting a new fair record in the process.
Connolly is no stranger to the world of giant pumpkins and the fair. In 2000, his 1,009.6 pumpkin was the first to break the 1,000-pound mark. In 2010, he broke the record again with a 1,674-pound pumpkin, according to WBZ.
