Speliotis Wins State Rep Re-Election Bid

The Associated Press is reporting that the incumbent has a comfortable lead with 62% of precincts reporting.

DANVERS, MA -- State Rep. Ted Speliotis (D-Danvers) appeared to be on his way to being re-elected to a twelfth term in the 13th Essex District Tuesday night. With 62% of precincts reporting, Speliotis had 54% of the vote to 46% Republican challenger Mark Mezzina. The district represents Danvers, Peabody and Middleton.

Speliotis, 65, has held the seat to 1997. He won his first election when he was 18 and won a race for a seat in Danvers's representative town meeting.
