Town Evaluates Proposals for Dispatch Center Study
Town staff members will evaluate consultant proposals in the first step toward making improvements to the town's emergency communications center.

The first steps are underway to study how to expand and upgrade the town’s emergency communications center, reports The Salem News.
A regional dispatch center is just about complete in Middleton and is planned to open later this year. Danvers decided not to join it several years ago and it will open with six communities, including neighboring Beverly and Wenham.
The town's emergency center is located the police station. Town Meeting already authorized spending $40,000 on improvements and a committee made up of several town staff members has been named to evaluate the four consultant proposals, the Salem News reports.
