Trash Pickup Halted Because of Safety Concerns

Trash and recycling pickup will not be completed on Friday in Danvers.

Trash and recycling collection in Danvers was suspended on Friday morning because of safety concerns.

The Danvers Department of Public Works made the announcement at 10:27 a.m. on Friday.

"If your Friday trash and recycling has not been picked up yet, please take it in," the DPW said in its alert.

Any trash and recycling that was not picked up on Friday will be picked up on Monday.

"Please have it out by 7 a.m. on Monday, March 11," the DPW said.

Initially, the DPW said that trash pickup would happen on Friday and some pickup did happen. But the safety concerns related to the snowstorm prompted it to be halted.
