Route 114 May Be Closed Several Days After Truck Hits Overpass

DANVERS, MA — Route 114 East in Danvers will be closed - potentially for "several days" - while workers evaluate and repair the Route 1 South bridge after a truck crashed into it, the Massachusetts Department of Transportation said.

The right lane of Route 1 South and the Route 1 South ramp to 114 East are closed. All 114 East traffic is being diverted to Route 1 South.

A commercial roll off container vehicle had its roll off hoist elevator in the up position when it struck. No injuries were reported.

Repairs could be extensive, MassDOT said.
