True North's Topsfield Fair Giant Pumpkin Ale Celebrates 205th Annual Fall Event
The brew, inspired by the Fair's Giant Pumpkin Weigh-Off, will be available at the Fair beer garden, True North taproom and area retailers.

TOPSFIELD, MA — Perhaps nothing exemplifies the heart of the fall season on the North Shore more than the historic Topsfield Fair.
True North Ale Company is celebrating the spirit of one of the Topsfield Fair's marquee events this year with its new Topsfield Fair Giant Pumpkin Ale.
The Ipswich-based brewery said the beer includes "specialty malts for a rich, malt-forward sweetness, then dosed with pumpkin and spiced with cinnamon, allspice, nutmeg, ginger and clove" creating a brew that is "sweet, savory and aromatic with notes of pumpkin pie and warm baking spice."

"A pumpkin beer is the perfect brew for the Topsfield Fair, as the Fair is world renowned for its Giant Pumpkin Weigh-Off, with three world records and the world’s first one-ton pumpkin back in 2012," said Gary Rogers, Founder & Chief of Business Operations at True North Ales.
True North Ales also partnered with the Topsfield Fair on an exclusive brew for its inaugural beer garden in 2022.
"We truly look forward to greeting guests at the Fair's beer garden with Topsfield Fair Giant Pumpkin Ale, a fall classic," Topsfield Fair General Manager James O'Brien said. "True North Ales is hyper-local, right next door in Ipswich. The Fair has actively promoted local business interests for more than two hundred years."
Noted Marblehead artist Amy Hourihan created the artwork for the beer's can label.
True North Ale Company opened in 2017, with its beers having been poured in nearly 1,700 bars and restaurants, and sold in more than 1,500 stores in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Rhode Island.
