Two Danvers Businesses Get Liquor Licenses Suspended

In rulings last month, the state suspended the licenses of Merchants Liquor Mart and Mandarin Danvers

DANVERS, MA -- The Massachusetts Alcoholic Beverages Control Commission suspended the liquor license of Merchants Liquor Mart for one day and Mandarin Danvers for two days following May 29 hearings. The suspensions come after the Commission performed compliance checks on April 5 to make sure Danvers businesses were complying with state alcohol laws.

At Mandarin Danvers, an underage person working with the commission purchased a bottle of Bud Light without being asked for identification. On the same evening, an underage person working with the Commission purchased a six-pack of Miller Lite at Merchants Liquor Mart without being asked for identification.

Both businesses have the right to appeal the decision in Essex County Superior Court.
