VIDEO: Drum Away The Blues

Musician Craig Harris taught audiences to Drum Away the Blues at the the on Wednesday Aug. 24.  

Harris has taught the program, geared towards relieiving stress through percussion instruments, since 2009, after serving as a public school teacher for 26 years. Harris resides in Chicopee, Mass., but performs in various libraries and youth centers across Massachusetts and Connecticut.  

Donna Maturi, Head of Reference and Information Services, described the event as "a celebration of world music," and a great end to the summer. This year's Adult Reading Program summer theme focused on around the world travel. 

Among his many talents, Maturi noted Harris' skills in photography, journalism, education, and of course, music.
