Volunteer Opportunity: 2026 Danvers Town-Wide Cleanup

VFW Post 2359 is seeking dedicated volunteers to join us for the 2026 Danvers Town-Wide Cleanup. This is a fantastic opportunity to give back to the community, honor our local history, and enjoy a morning of service with your neighbors.

Event Details

• Date: Saturday, April 25th, 2026 (rain or shine)
• Time: 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM
• Check-in Location: VFW Post 2359, 5 Conant St, Danvers, MA 01923

Our Cleanup Areas

This year, our Post will be focusing its efforts on two vital areas of Danvers:

1. Danvers Downtown: Help us clear litter and debris to ensure the Maple St / High St area remains vibrant and welcoming.
2. Porter’s Burial Ground: Assist in a respectful cleanup of this historic site to honor those who came before us.

What to Bring

• Attire: Please wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes and work clothes you don't mind getting a little dirty.
• Protection: We recommend bringing work gloves, sunscreen, and a reusable water bottle.
• Supplies: Trash bags will be provided, but extra rakes or grabbers are always welcome!

Membership is open to any U.S. citizen who has served honorably in the U.S. Armed Forces and has served in a theater of operations that would qualify for a campaign medal, who have served in Korea, or who has received Hostile Fire or Imminent Danger Pay (vfw.org/join/eligibility).
