When Are Memorial Day Ceremonies in Danvers?
Here's the schedule for Memorial Day observances in town.
Danvers' annual Memorial Day parade steps off Monday morning outside Town Hall with U.S. Air Force veteran Steve Godzik serving as Grand Marshal.
The parade route will be the same as in past year, including stops at Porter Cemetery on High Street, Lane Parkway and the memorial flag pole in Danvers Square, where wreaths will also be placed. A reviewing stand will be set up at the corner of Elm and Essex streets.
The parade begins at 9 a.m., all veterans in town are encouraged to participate and a trolley will be available at Town Hall for any veterans unable to march on foot.

Godzik, who served during Vietnam and is considered a "leader by example of veterans helping veterans," will march out front as Grand Marshal. He is actively involved with the American Legion, VFW and Operation Troop Support.
The Danvers Veterans Council says it is honored to designate him as Grand Marshal for the parade.

Following the parade, a ceremony will be held back at Town Hall at approximately 10 a.m. The guest speaker will be John Archer. The public is invited to attend.
Earlier this week on Wednesday, about 20 volunteers gathered at Walnut Grove Cemetery with Veterans Agent Peter Mirandi to place flags at the graves of veterans buried there and at a few other cemeteries in town.
All told, Mirandi said, there are 22 graveyards in town. He handed out 900 flags on Wednesday, most of which were placed at Walnut Grove.
