$250K In Damages, But None Injured In Easton House Fire

Officials said the fire was caused by a component of the home's air conditioning unit.

EASTON, MA — A fire in the attic of a Lancelot Lane home Wednesday afternoon caused an estimated $250,000, but no one was hurt. Two people inside the home safely escaped with their two dogs.

Fire Chief Kevin Partridge said firefighters responded to the blaze at 26 Lancelot Ln. shortly after 2 p.m. and a second alarm was called. The fire was knocked down by 3:12 p.m.

The fire is suspected to have been caused by a component of the home's air conditioning unit. It is being investigated.

Stoughton, Mansfield, Norton, West Bridgewater, and Sharon Fire Departments provided mutual aid at the scene, while the Brockton Fire Department provided station coverage.

"I’m proud of the work of our firefighters and all of the firefighters who supported us during this incident," Partridge said. "Everyone coordinated very well with one another and worked efficiently despite the extreme heat to quickly bring the fire under control."
