Accident Shuts Down Traffic at North Main and Elm Saturday Morning

A cement truck knocked down wires at the intersection Saturday.

An accident shut down traffic Saturday morning at North Main and Elm after a cement truck struck poles, knocking wires into the road.

Police received multiple 911 calls at approximately 8:40 a.m. regarding the accident. National Grid and Verizon were notified while detail officers were sent to the scene to direct traffic. No injuries were reported.

Police received a call at approximately 1:55 a.m. Friday to report two teens walking near Center School towards Five Corners, each carrying a baseball bat.

When officers located the juveniles, they reportedly ran into the woods. Officers found one who had fell while running. The Fire Department was called to help with the injured teen who was eventually transported to Good Samaritan Medical Center.

Caller Reports Attempted Breaking and Entering at Quality Auto Body

Police received a call at approximately 7 p.m. Thursday regarding a suspicious male at Quality Auto Body on Foundry Street attempting to break into vehicles.

The caller described the man as tall and thin with black and grey hair and in his mid 40's. He allegedly left on foot.

Officers were unable to locate the man. After checking the auto body shop, they reported all to be secure.
