Boldrighini said the fire itself was difficult to fight because of downed and live electrical lines arcing in the driveway.

"It was making the attack very difficult; it was dancing around in the driveway," he said. "Everybody went to work and worked really hard."

The fire touched every floor of the house, as the fire got into the walls of the structure.

"It raced up the walls and right up into the attic space," Boldrighini said. "It was a lot of digging, just to be able to get to the [rest of the] fire once we got the heavy fire knocked down. Every floor had heavy fire as we made entry. These guys did a great job."

Mansfield was assisted by Norton, North Attleboro, Sharon, Easton, Norfolk, and Foxborough units during the fire. No cause has yet been established.
