Attempted Breaking and Entering Reported on Purchase Street

Screens were removed and evidence of a person were in the mulch bed on Purchase Street, Police reports say.

Easton Police responded to an attempted Breaking and Entering incident on Purchase Street on Friday evening.

At approximately 7:15 p.m, Police responded to the call. The responding officer reported that screens had been removed from windows on the west side of the house and there were footprints in the mulch near the windows.

The event occurred between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. No damage had occurred and nothing was missing.

Gun Shots Heard Near Foundry and South Street

Police responded to a call early in the morning Saturday regarding alleged gunshots in the Fourndy and South Street area.

A resident said they heard six gun shots at approximately 3:50 a.m. but did not see cars or activity in the area.

Police responded and could not find anything.

Accident at Elm and Main Street

Emergency officials responded to a motor vehicle accident at the corner of Elm Street and Main Street Saturday afternoon at approximately 1:20 p.m.

One party was transported to Good Samaritan Medical Center as a result.

Taunton Man Arrested for OUI in Easton

A Taunton man was arrested for drunk driving after he was pulled over in the Shaw's parking lot near Five Corners Saturday evening.

John Higgins, 52, of Taunton was arrested for operating under the influence at approximately 6:30 p.m. Saturday.

He was released on $1,040 bail.
