Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts and Massachusetts Bankers Association Recognize Bristol County Savings Bank for Its Dedication to a Healthy Workplace

Blue Cross in concert with Mass Bankers Association announces the inaugural Banking on Wellness Award to Bristol County Savings Bank.

BOSTON —  Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts in concert with Massachusetts Bankers Association announced today that the Bristol County Savings Bank received the inaugural Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts Banking on Wellness Award for its dedication to wellness initiatives to improve employee health. The award, along with a $5,000 wellness grant, was presented at the Massachusetts Bankers Association’s Annual CEO Conference in Waltham, MA.

The Banking on Wellness Awards highlight the innovative wellness programs instituted at five Massachusetts banks that are part of the Mass Bankers Association health insurance program, which consists of 140 banks around the Commonwealth. Bristol County Savings Bank was selected as the Overall Excellence Award honoree for the leadership of senior management to support and implement a wellness campaign focused on raising employees’ awareness of health risks—and giving them the tools to take action, resulting in company-wide participation and completion.

Additionally, the bank sponsored “Fun Fit Fridays” in its Learning Center, where employees could use ahealthyme.com, a secure wellness hub from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, to take a health assessment and complete wellness workshops. To encourage participation, the bank pulled weekly raffles and had a department-versus-department challenge to see who could get the highest completion rates, awarding fruit platters to the winners. The result was nearly 100% participation and completion of the wellness program.
