Car Erupts In Flames During Storm

Firefighters​ believe that the blaze may have been caused by the driver of the vehicle repeatedly revving the engine after becoming stuck.

EASTON, MA — A car fire in the heavy snow was extinguished by the Easton Fire Department around midday Thursday.

Easton Fire Department responded to a report of a car on fire at Honey Dew Donuts near the intersection of Belmont and Washington streets at 11:36 a.m. Engines 1 and 2 and Cars 3 and 4 responded to the scene and located a car with flames near the hood.

The crew from Engine 1 quickly extinguished the flames. No injuries were reported as a result of the fire, according to Easton Fire.

Firefighters believe that the blaze may have been caused by the driver of the vehicle repeatedly revving the engine after becoming stuck in the snow. The driver was able to escape the vehicle.
