Child Porn Charges For Fall River Teacher

FALL RIVER, MA — A Fall River special education teacher was arrested Thursday on child pornography charges, police said. Henry Tedeschi, 54, of West Warwick, Rhode Island, allegedly stored the material in his e-mail account.

Tedeschi currently works at Morton Middle School in Fall River. He's also worked in Rhode Island over his 30-year career.

"At this time, there is no evidence of any inappropriate contact between Tedeschi and any of his current or former students," Rhode Island State Police said in a statement. "However, the public is encouraged to contact a member of the Rhode Island State Police ... at 401-921-1170 if he/she has information that may forward this investigation."

Police said they launched an investigation into Tedeschi after receiving a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Officers raided Tedeschi's Bratt Lane residence Thursday morning and seized eight digital media files.

Tedeschi was charged with child porn possession; more charges are likely, police said.

The Rhode Island State Police Internet Crimes Against Children unit investigated the case.
