Couple Rescued By Coast Guard in Massachusetts Bay
The Coast Guard rescued a couple in their 50s who went rafting near Rocky Beach in Cohasset.
Cohasset, MA — A couple was rescued by the Coast Guard early Tuesday morning after a rafting trip gone awry in Massachusetts Bay, officials said.
The couple, who are in their 50s, were pulled aboard by a boat at about 4 a.m. after their son reported them missing. The couple was not hurt.
The couple had been rafting near Rocky Beach in Cohasset.

"We are happy to bring this couple home alive and well, but urge mariners to remember to have the proper safety gear when on the water," said Coast Guard Lt. Jennifer Hertzler in a statement. "Wearing life jackets and having a radio are just some basic examples of what mariners need to have on the water to be safe."
Crews searched the bay for about three hours; a Coast Guard boat, an MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter from Coast Guard Air Station Cape Cod, and the Cohasset harbormaster were involved.
