Design and Visual Communications Honor Society Holds 4th Annual Induction
Southeastern Regional Voc Tech Students, Teachers and Alumni Enjoy an Evening of Celebration
(South Easton) - With the recitation of the 4th Annual Design and Visual Communications Honor Society oath, the following nine new members promised “to be a model of leadership, professionalism and integrity (and) strive to help and mentor others by (their) positive attitude and actions.”

DVC instructor, Mrs. Shirley Ezerins, described the characteristics of an honor society student: “They strive for academic and vocational excellence (an 89% / B+ average or better), have positive attitudes, are DVC leaders and mentors, and actively contribute to Southeastern in both word and deed. They volunteer at a food kitchen and they organize and keep their DVC classroom running. They’re striving to make improvements right now and for the students that come along after them, leaving a positive legacy.”
Also in attendance at the Culinary Arts student catered event were teachers who have made a special impact on DVC students during their time at Southeastern Regional. Alumni from 2012-2014, administrators, friends and family members also enjoyed the student delivered speeches about such qualities as Determination, Responsibility, the Power of Ambition, Maturity, Change, Esteemed Qualities, Transition, Identity and Personal Obligations.
President James Morris-Dolar’s speech, “Determination,” highlighted such accomplishments as his paid apprenticeship with Artists for Humanity, attendance at All State, a Gold Key art award and his acceptance into three art colleges. He plans to attend Monserrat College of Art in the Fall.
The DVC Honor Society mission statement is “to recognize leadership, professionalism and outstanding skills while working to impact and inspire the world.”
Southeastern Regional Vocational Technical High School is a public 9-12 vocational high school located in South Easton, Massachusetts, serving approximately 1,400 students from the City of Brockton and the towns of East Bridgewater, Easton, Foxborough, Mansfield, Norton, Sharon, Stoughton and West Bridgewater.
