Driver Arrested After Roll-Over Accident on Turnpike Street

An Acura allegedly blew through a stop sign and struck a pick-up truck Saturday, forcing the truck to roll over.

Easton Police arrested one man Saturday morning after his Acura struck a Chevy Silverado Pickup truck, causing the truck to turn over near the Turnpike and Washington Street split on route 138.

Police Chief said Osmar Mundim, 41, of 177 Washington Street, Taunton was arrested for unlicensed operation and operating recklessly after he allegedly failed to yeild at the stop sign near at the split.

There were two passengers in the pick-up truck, according to Fire Captain Tony Gomes. One did not sustain injuries while the other was taken to the hospital for evaluation. Gomes said the injuries did not appear serious.

Traffic was backed up on Washington and Turnpike Streets while the accident was cleared.

The arrest marked the fifth time have brought a prisoner into custody since Thursday. Police arrested , and in the past 48 hours.
