These arrests were the result of a month-long investigation involving multiple police agencies into heroin distribution in the Easton area. Detectives had the suspects under surveillance and attempted to stop the vehicle and make the arrests at Belmont and Washington Streets. The suspects fled northbound on Rte 138 and were observed throwing drugs out the car windows. Those drugs were recovered by investigators. The vehicle was stopped and the suspects were arrested.
A search warrant was executed at Cotter’s home on Lincoln Street and more drugs were recovered. Detectives are investigating the possibility that Cotter’s drug distribution may have led to a recent heroin overdose that resulted in the death of an individual from this area.
