Snow Shuts Down Easton Monday; Temperatures to Rise Throughout Week
Snow shut down Easton for Sunday Night and Throughout Monday.
A blizzard rolled through Easton Sunday afternoon through Monday leaving the town of Easton covered in snow while closing town offices, keeping many home from work, and shutting power off for much of town.
Many awoke Monday morning to find power had been lost in their home, Most outages were in and around North Easton Village, and many are still left without power, according to National Grid.
Town offices were closed all day and OA athetics were postponed until Tuesday afternoon.

The Board of Selectmen meeting, which was scheduled for Monday night at 7 p.m., was cancelled.
The weather service issued a blizzard warning early Sunday, and shortly after, Governor Deval Patrick issued a State of Emergency.

"The declaration of a State of Emergency will enable the Governor to take the appropriate steps to mobilize many of the Commonwealth's assets, such as the National Guard, and conduct other emergency business to assist local communities is their response to and recovery from the many impacts of this winter storm," a press release issued by Patrick's office said.
The National Weather Service said now that the snow has stopped, temperatures will continue to rise throughout the week which could result in rapid snow melting. Temperatures will reach a high of 33 degrees Wednesday, 36 degrees on Thursdays and 43 degrees on Friday.
The Easton Department of Public Works has been working to clear the roads in Easton and the Massachusetts Department of Transportation had more than 4,000 pieces of equipment clearing state roads throughout the snow.
