If you think social media plays a huge role in business marketing nowadays, you're probably right -

At least according to Tricia White, the Senior Business Advisor at the Massachusetts Small Business Development Center Network, who spoke at the Thursday night in a discussion centered around social media marketing for small businesses.

"People use social media today," she said. "But, they don't know how to use it to their advantage."

White touched on Facebook, Youtube, Linkedin and various Google tools in an effort to teach business owners the importance of social media tools, and also how to use them.

Prior to her presentation, White showed the audience of just over 30 people a Youtube video displaying the importance of social media. The video pointed out that facebook had added 100 million users in less than nine months and that if it were a country, it would be the fourth largest in the world behind India, China and the United States.
