Easton Chief Reminds Residents Of Open-Fire Regulations
Easton Fire Chief Kevin Partridge issues burning message to residents with open-burning season beginning on Wednesday.
EASTON, MA — Easton Fire Chief Kevin Partridge marked the opening of State Open Burning Season on Wednesday with a reminder to residents about burning regulations in the town. The season runs through May 1.
Easton burning permits do not carry over from year to year. All residents must reapply for a season permit through the town website. Residents can register immediately and then apply for a permit for the specific day burning is intended.
Burning in Easton is allowed from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Burning must be done at least 75 feet way from buildings and must be attended to at all times. Outdoor burning is only permitted for brush, cane, driftwood, forestry debris for non-commercial purposes. Burning grass, hay, leaves, stumps, tires, plastic and trash or commercial burning is prohibited.

Violation of permit requirements and burning regulations are grounds for permit revocation. Residents found violating regulations could face up to one year in jail, one month in prison, or both.
