Easton Elementary School Principal Named Finalist for East Bridgewater Superintendent Position

An elementary school principal from Easton could soon be the new superintendent of the East Bridgewater Public Schools.

Gary Mazzola, principal of the Olmsted-Richardson Elementary School in Easton, was recently announced as one of the four finalists for the job and will be interviewed by the East Bridgewater School Committee on Sept. 17 according to the Boston Globe.

Other finalists include Paul Haughey, director of student services in the Blackstone-Millville Regional School District; Thomas Raab, business manager for the Hanover public schools; and Craig Levis, director of special education for the Smithfield, R.I., public schools.

The four finalists were selected from a pool of 33 applicants.

The committee hopes to have a new superintendent by the end of October to allow for a smooth transition with interim superintendent John Moretti, whose contract expires at the end of December.
